Intern This Semester and Help Cancer Patients Receive Financial Relief

Angel Foundation provides financial support and education to cancer patients and their families. Our Financial Cancer Care Program connects individuals facing financial hardship due to cancer with resources, education, and personalized financial Planning assistance.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated program intern to join our team and support the program’s efforts in delivering impactful financial care to those in need.

HOURS AND SCHEDULE:

This internship runs from January to June 2025. Most work hours will be done at the Angel Foundation office (Mendota Heights). Specific workdays/times are flexible. The average work week willrequire 10-12hours of in-office time. The person in this position will report to and work closely with the Financial Cancer Care Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Support: Support program operations, including scheduling client meetings, managing clients records and maintainingaccurate program data.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in organizing and coordinating workshops and on-one sessions for clients with Certified Financial Planners.
  • Communication: Responding to emails and processing mailings.
  • Documentation: Preparing and organizing reportsand other documents as needed.
  • Data Management: Maintaining and updating databases and spreadsheets.
  • Learning and Development: Actively participating in training sessions and seeking feedback to enhance skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate has:

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in Office Software: Familiarity with basic software like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or SharePoint.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in tasks like data entry and document preparation.
  • Basic IT Skills: Understanding of office equipment (printers, copiers) and basic troubleshooting.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professionalism: Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:

  • Physical requirements: Normal office environment, ability to sit, stand and operate office equipment.  Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Travel requirements: willingness to travel to workshops and presentations (occasional travel within the twin cities).

COMPENSATION

  • This position includes a stipend of $2,000, distributed in two payments. One at the midpoint and one at the end of the internship. Intern will need to complete a W9 form to receive payment.
