Volunteer Board Treasurer
ORGANIZATION: LAKEVILLE FARMINGTON TREEHOUSE
Please visit the new page to apply.
Lakeville Farmington Treehouse is looking for someone to join our board as a volunteer treasurer. We are an independent 501c3 non-profit focused on inspiring purpose and connection in teens (LFTreehouse.org). We take our mission very seriously, but understand that volunteering should also be quite enjoyable, rewarding and not too overwhelming!
In the beginning, more time may be needed to evaluate the current state and build structures and processes for compliance, reporting, budgeting/forecasting, auditing, and managing funds (perhaps 20 hours monthly). But as time goes on, the commitment should level off to 12-14 hours per month. The most important qualifications are having a heart for at-risk teens, a desire to help mature a young non-profit, a knack for building processes and structure, bookkeeping, finance and/or accounting skills, and an experience/interest in evaluating, interpreting and executing on non-profit requirements (MN and IRS). If you have the passion and energy, we have the supportive environment where you will flourish and be able to make a difference! Below is a job description we assembled for this position. All items are open for discussion. We want this position to work for both of us!Board Treasurer Position Description

We are on a mission to inspire purpose and connection in teens. We do this by building trust, demonstrating consistency, engaging in our community and appreciating each teen's God-given value.
Description
Lakeville Farmington Treehouse is a youth outreach program with a mission to inspire purpose and
connection in teens. We serve at-risk/struggling Dakota county teens in the communities of Farmington,
Lakeville, and adjacent cities. The program fills a niche for youth in grades 7-12 who may not fit well into
other extracurricular activities because of social or mental health issues. Many of our participants also
struggle to succeed in school which is one focus of our programming.
Most of our participants are referred to us by local school districts, county mental health or juvenile
programs and are facing at least one significant life issue. Programs are structured to help youth recognize
and address mental health issues and work through difficult school and family situations, providing an
important lifeline to many.
