As a Remote Indirect Volunteer in hospice care, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients and families receive quality care by making phone calls to check in with patients and their care givers.

Circle of Care calls are made every week on Wednesday or Thursday to all patients. You will check in with them to see how they are doing, if they have enough medications/supplies to get them through the weekend, and ask if they need a visit from their Nurse, Chaplain or Social Worker before the weekend.

This is an extra level of care we offer each of our patients so that all of their needs are met and taken care of.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to offer emotional support over the phone
  • Must respect confidentiality while being emotionally present
  • Reliability and commitment to support the needs of our patients
  • Ability to document calls
  • Emotional resilience - ability to handle emotionally charged conversations with compassion and stability
