Mission Statement

Hand Over Hand is a nonprofit organization that creates safe, accessible spaces with and for the disability community.

Description

Hand Over Hand was started as a high school club in 2005 to bring awareness about disabilities to the community, and has grown into a nonprofit organization under the Government of Ontario. From the beginning, our values include peer-driven programs, youth engagement, and community accessibility. Since then, we've launched four programs with and for people in York Region and Toronto who have disabilities, and remain volunteer-run to this day. Our team is proud of our partners who empower our members, our volunteers who are dedicated allies, and our members with disabilities who help our community understand what safe spaces looks like!
