Harmony Movement is excited to announce opportunities for passionate volunteers to support our upcoming event, Building Bridges Storytelling Activation Event on March 15, 2025. This event will celebrate 30 years of Harmony Movement fostering understanding, challenging discrimination, and promoting equity and inclusion in Canada.

Join us in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees! Whether you're looking to assist with event setup and take-down, or you have experience leading and coordinating teams, we have a role for you.

Available Volunteer Roles:

General Volunteers (20)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup and take-down
  • Provide support to the event staff throughout the day
  • Serve as ushers and direct attendees to various event stations
  • General event logistics support as needed

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and dependable
  • Comfortable with standing and moving around during the event.

Lead/Coordinator Volunteers (5)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Social Media and Communications Coordinator (1): Manage event promotion across social media platforms, engage with followers, and help create content for pre-event and post-event updates
  • A/V and Screen Content Coordinator (1): Support audio-visual needs and oversee the digital content on screens, contribute to the development of the script and engaging content to be displayed during the event, and ensure timely and accurate presentation of materials
  • Youth Station Coordinator (1): Lead the youth activity station, ensuring everything runs smoothly for young participants
  • Storytelling Station Coordinators (2): Manage storytelling activities, guide volunteers and attendees through the station

Requirements:

  • Must be available for virtual meetings on Fridays between 4 to 5 PM
  • Commitment of 1-2 hours of work per week in the lead-up to the event
  • Leadership skills or experience in event coordination or related roles
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt quickly to changing circumstances

All Volunteers:

  • Saturday, March 15: All volunteers must be available to support the event day from 10 am to 6 pm, including setup and event-day responsibilities.
  • Food & Beverage: Meals and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers on the day of the event.

For coordinator roles, please specify any relevant experience that would make you an ideal candidate. Resumes will be accepted on a rolling basis until all roles are filled.
