Volunteer Opportunity: Front Desk Support at Napa County Historical Society
Do you have a passion for history and a desire to help your community? The Napa County Historical Society is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to assist with front desk operations.
Position: Front Desk Volunteer
Location: Napa County Historical Society, 1219 First Street, Napa, CA
Time Commitment: Flexible hours, Saturday needed
Duties Include:
- Greeting visitors and answering inquiries
- Providing information about exhibits and events
- Maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Utilizing Square for gift shop purchases and donations
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Interest in local history is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a historical setting while contributing to a meaningful cause. You’ll have the chance to learn about Napa’s rich history and meet people from all over the world.

The purpose of the Napa County Historical Society is to discover and keep history alive through exhibits, lectures, and events, as well as research, publications, and educational activities. We are a membership-based archival and educational organization dedicated to the discovery, preservation and presentation of the people and history of Napa County and its place in California history.
Description
The Napa County Historical Society is both a research library and museum dedicated to preserving Napa's history. We house an extensive collection of original documents, books, photographs, manuscripts, and maps that support public research and education.
Hours of Operation:
- Tuesday to Thursday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Friday to Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
We invite you to visit us and explore the many ways you can engage with Napa's past.
