Are you and your certified therapy animal searching for a way to make a meaningful impact in your community? Patients in Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Lake, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Trumbull counties are eagerly awaiting your support!

At Harmony Hospice Care, we're committed to fostering harmony of mind, body, and soul for our patients and their families. Join our team of dedicated volunteers and help us provide quality and compassionate care to those in need.

As a member of our Therapy Animal Team, you and your fluffy partner will visit patients in their homes or in long term care facilities and provide the connection, peace, and memories only a friendly wagging tail can provide! Our volunteers select their service area and set their own schedules so this opportunity is flexible for you and your partner!

Qualifications:

· Proof of certification as a therapy dog by a nationally accredited organization

· Completion of the K9 Good Citizen test or comparable training

· Record of veterinary care and up-to-date vaccine records

· PLEASE NOTE: Other certified therapy animals will be considered on a case-by-case basis

  • Availability and skills relevant to your chosen volunteer activity
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Empathy and compassion
  • Human must complete a background check, TB test, physical, and provided training

Description

Harmony Hospice Care provides a complete range of caring and compassionate hospice services to residents of the greater Cleveland area. Our team encompasses a broad range of expertise and disciplines to address a comprehensive range of needs: physicians, nurses, aides, pain management specialists, dietitians, social workers, chaplains and clergy members. Significantly, the team collaborates with family members and loved ones to determine a plan of action that reflects their wishes and needs. Our primary goal is to make sure that the end-of-life experience is as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Beyond alleviating pain and symptoms, we emphasize emotional health and a harmonious mindset. Likewise, we address the spiritual and social needs of family members both during and after the end-of-life period.
