Become an Environmental Education Docent!
ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation
Please visit the new page to apply.
You can help connect students with nature and create the next generation of River Stewards! Imagine seeing a child being in awe of a river invertebrate for the first time, touching a bird feather, or grinding acorns to appreciate Kumeyaay ethnobotany.
The San Diego River Park Foundation (SDRPF) believes that experience is the best teacher and that all children should have access to outdoor education and its myriad of health and academic benefits. SDRPF's Cool River Education provides free hands-on nature learning experiences along the San Diego River to underserved students. These innovative experiences allow kids to become scientists for a day, get their hands dirty, and have fun while immersing in nature.
Join us in creating these memorable hands-on nature experiences for deserving kids and helping to foster a better understanding of the value of the San Diego River as an ecological, cultural, and recreational resource in need of our stewardship. These experiences can inspire a lifelong love of nature and pursuit of science studies/careers!
If you would like to help SDRPF provide free nature learning experiences to more kids, consider becoming an Education Docent! Please email Shawn at shawn@sandiegoriver.org for more details! More information on the Cool River Program can be found here.
