Catholic Charities began providing immigration assistance during World War II, when refugees sought safety on American shores. Today, most clients seeking immigration services are coming from Middle East, Armenia, Afghanistan, Central America, Iran, Mexico and Syria.
We are seeking a Volunteer Case Manager
Purpose :
To support the resettlement of newly arrived refugees by assisting with core services and ensuring compliance with program requirements. Volunteers play a crucial role in helping refugees transition smoothly into their new lives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Phone call or (home visits not applicable for TSE) to refugees, and complete intake forms, assessments, and reports accurately and promptly,
· Assist in creating and archiving detailed case folders with all necessary forms, reports, and documents.
· Learn and manage the MRIS system effectively.
· Make copies and print out documents, forms, intakes ...etc. and uploaded into the MRIS system when they are requested to do so.
· Ensure the accuracy and proper archiving of reports and forms, both in MRIS and physical case folders.
· Collaborate with other volunteers to ensure the timely and effective delivery of core services.
· Provide guidance for refugees accessing social services, medical care, education, and employment opportunities, housing, school enrolment ...etc.
· Compile expenditure records and ensure proper documentation of financial documents
· Educate refugees on available resources and processes for accessing essential services.
· Maintain a welcoming and culturally sensitive environment for refugees.
· Perform other duties as requested by the Program Manager and Associate Director.
Qualifications:
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Familiarity with computer systems and database management (training on MRIS will be provided).
· A commitment to cultural sensitivity and confidentiality.
Time Commitment:
Flexible, but to be coordinated with the R&P management.
