As we welcome 2025, we're excited to invite you to join our dedicated team of volunteers who provide a warm, welcoming space for those experiencing poverty in Over-the-Rhine. Every day, our volunteers serve breakfast and dinner with dignity, respect, and care, creating a sense of community and compassion for those in need.
We serve meals Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays), and we're looking for volunteers to fill our shifts:
- Breakfast Shift: 6:45 AM - 9:00 AM
- Dinner Shift: 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM
We are located at the St. Anthony Center (corner of Liberty and Republic), and we offer convenient free parking in front of the building or behind St. Francis Seraph School (turn onto Vine St. and park between the green school fence and Hubert St.).
This is the perfect opportunity to start the year by giving back! You can easily sign up for the shifts that fit your schedule via our volunteer portal: https://sfsministries.galaxydigital.com/agency/detail/?agency_id=79839
For more information or any questions, contact Susan Walsh at swalsh@sfsministries.org
Together, let's make 2025 a year of compassion and service!

Description
Saint Francis Seraph Ministries -
a sponsored ministry of the Province of St. John the Baptist of the Order of Friars Minor (the Franciscans) The Franciscan Friars have been serving the homeless and working poor in our community for more than 175 years. The Franciscans were invited by Archbishop John Purcell in 1844 to come from Germany and serve the German immigrants living in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. As the neighborhood changed and the needs grew, especially among more impoverished residents in Over-the-Rhine, the Franciscan Friars established one of the first local soup kitchens in the late 1970s. Other programs, such as the Sarah Center and Foot Care for the Souls, were added beginning in the 1980s. Today, SFSM operates its programs and outreach services in the St. Anthony Center at 1615 Republic Street, serving as a welcome center with multiple nonprofit organizations working together to serve the basic physical and emotional needs of the impoverished and homeless.
