High Sierra Ranger Station Volunteer Services Description & Activities

High Sierra Ranger Station on Kaiser Pass Rd. Visitor Center and local services.

Living and working at the Ranger Station location. Housing provided on site.


Duties include:

• Staffing the Visitor Services Information Station, (Visitor Center), interacting with Forest Visitors.

• Providing information and guidance for Sierra National Forest and surrounding areas.

• Selling 3FIA organization merchandise on site.

• Maintaining Bolsillo Campground. Includes three campsites with picnic tables, fire rings and bear boxes.

• Assisting in station minor maintenance and operations.

Which can include but not excusive to:

o Raking pine needles for defensive fire space

o Cleaning restrooms at the station and campground.

o Monitoring the generator and water system on site.

o Helping with the care of stock animals when present.

o Use of hand tools and some mechanized equipment required.

o Could be hiking rough an uneven terrain in local area.

o Will receive training and PPE to safely participate in all required activities by Forest Service Employees

Have as much Fun as possible while helping our Forest Visitor enjoy their stay on Sierra National Forest.

 Volunteer Position will not start until the Agency Representative as sign agreement.

End Date - 2025-09-19
