Join us in removing invasive non-native species! Join Forterra so our native plants and wildlife can thrive. Quite a bit of restoration work has been done on site already. However, the pesky blackberries are trying to hog all the sunlight.
We'll start with a walk of the site, and have restoration professionals on site to answer any questions about plants, restoration, the Green Tukwila Partnership or Forterra
Please dress in layers to stay warm. Snacks, tools, gloves and drinks will all be provided.
Where to MeetThere will be signs directing you from the parking lot to where we will meet.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
