Organization Overview:
Apostle Lia Lorylyce Foundation is dedicated to serving vulnerable populations through various initiatives, including educational programs, healthcare services, and community development. We seek a knowledgeable and experienced volunteer lawyer to oversee all legal aspects of our foundation's operations, including potential for-profit ventures. We are looking to build a relationship with the right candidate for current formation and future transformation.
Position Summary:
The Volunteer Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance and support for our domestic and international initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both nonprofit and business law, with a strong understanding of global legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Oversight: Advise on compliance with U.S. and international laws governing nonprofit organizations and for-profit ventures.
- Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to foundation activities.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing policies that align with legal requirements for both nonprofit and business operations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks associated with foundation activities and propose mitigation strategies.
- Board Support: Attend board meetings to provide legal insights and updates on relevant legal issues.
Qualifications:
- Faith Commitment: Strong personal faith and acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as The Great, Mighty, and Awesome God of Israel.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in business, nonprofit, or social services sectors.
- Legal Expertise: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing; experience in nonprofit law, corporate law, or international business law.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution within legal frameworks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to Service: Demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
- Pursuit of Justice: Seeker of Truth, Justice, and Righteousness; willing to challenge the status quo in pursuit of Righteousness. This includes:
- Losing the bonds of wickedness
- Undoing heavy burdens
- Letting the oppressed go free
- Breaking every yoke & taking away yokes
- Avoiding pointing fingers and speaking wickedness
Biblical Principles:
The candidate should embody biblical values related to law and justice, such as:
- Micah 6:8: "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
- Isaiah 1:17: "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow."
- Proverbs 21:15: "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers."

This is a volunteer position requiring the same level of dedication as a paid role. The ideal candidate will balance strategic thinking with practical implementation, demonstrate a heart for service, and possess the business acumen necessary to lead a growing nonprofit organization.
