Position Overview:
Lead and inspire a team of marketing professionals to develop and execute innovative campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and growth for Mothers to Daughters.
Key Devliverables
Develop and implement communication strategies to bring awareness to M2D vision, mission, goals, and services.
Responsible for actively driving M2D’s marketing, advertising, PR, media, communications, promotional activities, and all opportunities for growth, expansion, and partnerships that increase brand loyalty and exposure
Ensure all business decisions are consistent with the brand's image while meeting the budget requirements, and assess the performance of all marketing campaigns
Advise and support the relevant team in translating brand elements into innovative and tailored growth strategies to appropriately engage Mothers and Daughters
Oversee and update other Board members on current marketing and advertising trends, similar organization’s activities, and customer reactions
Provide leadership and support to the relevant teams regarding the Community relations and outreach activities, events, and fundraisers, and liaise with community champions and other relevant partners and organizations as required
Supervise the regular risk assessment and suggest mitigation strategies
Avoid conflicts of interest and situations that would compromise the principles of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & PlanningDevelop and execute comprehensive marketing and PR strategies aligned with M2D's mission of empowering young women through mentorship
Create and manage annual marketing budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation across all initiatives. (In 2025 we have 3 special projects coming up)
Lead the development of the organization's brand strategy and positioning in the community and across various sectors
Establish clear KPIs and metrics to measure the success of M2D marketing and PR initiatives
Direct all external communications, including press releases, media statements, and crisis communications
Oversee the creation and maintenance of compelling content across all platforms (website, social media, newsletters, annual reports)
Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influence leaders in the women's empowerment space
Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels
Design and implement targeted campaigns to reach both potential mentors (Mothers) and mentees (Daughters)
Lead the organization's digital transformation efforts across all marketing channels
Oversee website optimization, SEO strategy, and digital content calendar
Direct social media strategy and engagement initiatives across all platforms
Implement data-driven marketing approaches using analytics and market research
Identify and develop strategic partnerships with aligned organizations and corporate sponsors
Oversee the planning and execution of community events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, donors, and stakeholders
Create engagement strategies to strengthen the organization's presence in existing markets and expand into new ones
Build and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members
Establish clear goals and expectations for team members
Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture aligned with M2D's values
Develop marketing strategies to support membership growth and retention
Create compelling impact reports and success stories to showcase program outcomes
Design campaigns to attract and retain both mentors and mentees
Implement systems to gather and leverage participant testimonials and success stories
Ensure all marketing and communications activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical guidelines
Manage the organization's reputation and develop crisis communication plans
Monitor and report on competitive landscape and industry trends
Maintain documentation of marketing processes and procedures
Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors (or via the Board Secretary) on marketing initiatives and outcomes
Prepare and present marketing performance reports at board meetings
Collaborate with other board members on strategic initiatives
Contribute to the organization's overall strategic planning process
Develop marketing materials and campaigns to support fundraising initiatives
Collaborate with development team to create compelling donor communications
Support grant applications with relevant marketing data and materials
Help create and maintain donor recognition programs
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with proven success in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns
Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing strategies, including social media management, content marketing, and analytics
Strong track record of building and maintaining media relationships, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to develop and manage substantial marketing budgets and track ROI
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and project management software
Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
Experience in nonprofit sector or women's empowerment initiatives preferred, with a passion for mentorship and community building
Commitment:
Attend all board meetings and key organizational events as required.
Approximate time commitment: 10 hours monthly
