The Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehab Center is currently looking for a Director of our organization. We are a nonprofit facility that takes in injured and orphaned wildlife and rehabilitates them back to health and releases them back to the wild. We have been in business for 27 years and is mainly volunteer driven.
Applicants should have some experience either volunteering or working in the field of wildlife rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
* Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs as well as understand its collective purpose
* Faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements and board materials in advance of meetings
* Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization
* Fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission
* Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to achieve the organization’s mission
* Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and influence public policy
* Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings
* Conduct annual performance reviews of paid staff members
* Respect the experiences of all who bring their voices and experiences into the boardroom and the organization
Skills/Competencies:
* Basic understanding how to use MS Excel and PowerPoint
* Correspondence writing skills
* Monitor OHSWRC budget spending
Note: this is a non-paid position and is a two year term

Ohlone Humane Society is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that serves the Tri-City area in the East Bay. We care for animals and the community through humane programs and services. Ohlone Humane Society is privately funded and relies on the generous support of our community through donations and volunteering.
As one of the few humane societies that maintains a wildlife rehabilitation center, Ohlone Humane Society truly advocates for all creatures--from injured or orphaned native species to abandoned companion animals.
