Artist in Residence - Flow in the Forest Program

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

Artists of all mediums are invited to apply for the Salmon-Challis National Forest's "Flow in the Forest" Artist in Residence Program. This post is to gauge interest, for a copy of the full Flow in the Forest application, please contact Becca Aceto at rebecca.aceto@usda.gov / 208-756-5566.

Now in its second year, the Flow in the Forest program will immerse artists in the spectacular landscapes of central Idaho while they volunteer alongside Forest Service employees on the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The artist will volunteer approximately 20 hours a week assisting Forest Service personnel and will also be provided with enough time to devote to their art. Living and working on the edge of the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness and in the vicinity of the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork and Main Salmon Rivers, artists will have ample opportunity to enjoy the natural ecosystems, heritage, and Wilderness that define this region. The artists selected will stay in a remote Forest Service Guard Station, such as Seafoam Guard Station or Bonanza Guard Station, both accessible by road, where there are minimal amenities but endless opportunities to enjoy the natural world. The length of the residency may run between 2-4 weeks between late June-September depending on the artist's availability and interest.

We look forward to hearing from you!
