Position Title: Chair of Records and Processing/Secretary

Reports to: President

Position Type: Volunteer; Dues- $100 per month

Expected Hours: 23 hours/month

Description of Position:

  • Rapid Response:

    • Collecting client information;

    • submitting clothing request forms to Chair of Recruitment and Retention;

    • arranging delivery of clothing items to client

  • Maintaining Email Lists:

    • Creating a procedure for maintaining communication with clients, donors, Community Closet volunteers, and Warehouse volunteers

    • Submitting information from sign-in sheets to contact database weekly

    • Mailing personal thank-you lists to donors

  • Weekly Recordkeeping of Inventory and Order Requests

  • Weekly Recordkeeping of Volunteer Records & Volunteer Hours

  • Monthly Preparation of Inventory Reports

  • Meeting Agenda Preparation and Facilitation

  • Position requires in-person work 4-6 hours per week

  • General Support for the ongoing operations of Capital Region Community Resource, Inc.

  • Board members attend board and committee meetings, and participate in discussions.

  • Board members should be knowledgeable about the organization's mission, policies, programs, and needs.

  • Board members may be expected to make a financial donation to the organization.

  • Board members are ambassadors for the organization and promote its mission.

Capital Region Community Resource, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 organization established to improve the lives, including the physical, mental, and emotional health, of community members living in the Capital Region, while simultaneously contributing to environmental sustainability. Through the Capital Region Community Closet, Capital Region Community Resource, Inc. collects and distributes clothing and basic needs essentials at no cost to Capital Region community members. It is, therefore, the duty and responsibility of Capital Region Community Resource, Inc. to ensure adequate and safe storing, efficient Capital Region Community Closet and Warehouse operations, effective operational strategies and procedures, and complete and accurate recording of all inventory movements and financial transactions.

Description

Established in 2023, Capital Region Communiy Resource, Inc. hopes to increase its input and output of donated clothes to those in the Capital Region who face clothing insecurity by 50% by 2026. Capital Region Community Resource, Inc. intends to meet its goals through the efficient establishment and operation of its Capital Region Community Closet and its Rapid Response service.
