Footcare
Show someone you care by tending to their soles!
Are you a nurse, heathcare provider, or trained massage therapist looking to give back?A lot of the people we serve, especially those in shelters, walk a lot; they walk all day or all night sometimes. This can lead tovery sore feet, or even worse conditions. However, regardless of housing status, every person should receive some form of footcare as most of us need them every day!
Here are some ideas for what footcare can look like. You can offer any combination of the following:
-Foot soak
-Nail trimming
-Corns/calluses reduction
-Treatment of common foot disease
-Foot massage
-New socks
-Compassionate listening

Where can I do this and for who?
FCC Shelter
-810 S 7th St, Minneapolis, MN 55415
-Unstably housed individuals
-Men, women
-Maximum number of shelter guests is 48
-
Or
-
Metro Inn
-5637 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419
-Previously unhoused residents
-Men, women
-Maximum number of residents is 22

How does it work?
If you can bring your own supplies, we can provide the space and ensure program participants know when you are coming ahead of time. There is ample space in the shelter, it’s one large room. There is a community room at the Metro Inn, where residents often come to cook and do laundry on one side of the room. For safety, we ask that only trained and/or experienced individualsoffer footcare. Otherwise, we are flexible when it comes to yourcapacity, specialty and are open to ideas.
