The Circle of SistAhood will be having our annual College Tour called C4 HER College Tour. Each year in the summer, we take 15-20 teen girls to visit a Community College or University. This experience allows the girls to receive direct college exposure, the ability to engage in asking questions related to their career, financial literacy components, medical education for all medical field careers, health and financial exploration, college readiness/prep, and increase self-awareness for their future.

Please help us to reach our goal for our upcoming 2025 College Tour!! We are excited to announce our upcoming C4 HER College Tour, scheduled to take place between June and July 2025. The specific dates will be confirmed based on the opening schedules of the institutions we plan to visit. This tour will provide participants with the invaluable experience of exploring at least 2-3 different community colleges and universities that offer a variety of educational opportunities.

The need for the C4 HER College Tour is underscored by the persistent challenges faced by teen girls from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. Access to higher education and career pathways is often hindered by systemic inequities, lack of resources, and limited exposure to college environments. This gap disproportionately affects African American young women, who may not have the same level of guidance, representation, or encouragement to pursue post-secondary education.

The college tour is essential for several reasons:

1. Exposure and Aspiration: Many students from under-resourced areas have never visited a college campus, which can make the idea of higher education feel abstract or unattainable. The C4 HER College Tour transforms this perception by providing tangible, real-world experiences that ignite ambition and show participants that college is not only possible but within reach.

2. Bridging Information Gaps: Without adequate mentorship or resources, families in low-income communities often lack critical knowledge about the college application process, financial aid, and career planning. The tour offers structured opportunities to engage with professionals and educators who provide insights into these processes, filling a crucial information gap.

3. Cultural Representation and Belonging: Representation matters. Visiting campuses where diverse role models share their experiences helps foster a sense of belonging and motivates young women to envision themselves in similar roles. This cultural enrichment is vital for building confidence and combating feelings of exclusion or imposter syndrome that can deter students from pursuing higher education.

4. Career and College Readiness: The tour incorporates workshops on financial literacy, career exploration, and college readiness. These elements prepare students not only for the logistical aspects of applying to college but also equip them with life skills that promote independence and informed decision-making.

5. Building Community and Support Networks: Participating in the tour connects students with peers who share similar aspirations and challenges, creating a supportive community that can continue to inspire and motivate them long after the tour ends. In conclusion, the C4 HER College Tour addresses the need for direct educational opportunities that build bridges to higher learning, foster cultural enrichment, and empower young women to break the cycle of disadvantage. By doing so, it helps create equitable pathways that open doors to brighter futures for teen girls in under-resourced communities.

How Your Sponsorship Makes a Difference: Your generous sponsorship will directly contribute to creating an enriching and inclusive experience for all participants.

Specifically, your support will assist with:

1. Transportation: Ensuring safe and reliable travel for all participants to visit multiple college campuses and participate in educational excursions.

2. Food and Accommodations: Providing nutritious meals and secure lodging for students throughout the duration of the tour.

3. Supplies and Materials: Supplying participants with educational resources and tools essential for engaging in workshops, college readiness sessions, and career exploration activities.

4. Financial Assistance for Low-Income Families: Covering costs for families who are unable to afford these expenses, ensuring that financial constraints do not limit any student's opportunity to fully participate in this valuable experience.

Why Your Support Matters: By sponsoring the C4 HER College Tour, you become an essential partner in bridging opportunity gaps and promoting equity in education. Your investment empowers young women to explore college possibilities, gain crucial insights into their future career paths, and develop the confidence needed to pursue higher learning. This sponsorship opportunity is more than just funding an event; it’s an investment in the future leaders of our community.

Your support will create lasting change by helping young women access experiences that build resilience, inspire ambition, and contribute to long-term educational success. We hope you will consider joining us in making this vital program accessible to all participants, regardless of their financial situation. Your sponsorship will leave a meaningful imprint on these young women's lives, fostering a future of opportunity, growth, and empowerment.

Thank you for considering this partnership. Together, we can ensure every young woman on the C4 HER College Tour has the chance to envision, achieve, and thrive.

About CIRCLE OF SISTAHOOD

Location:

1301 E DEBBIE LN STE 102, #1460, MANSFIELD, TX 76063, US

Mission Statement

The Circle of SistAhood is a mentorship program designed to influence teenage girls (ages 12-17 years of age in breaking difficult barriers, creating safe spaces to grow, and producing visions for positive change. We are a resource that provides a supportive network for families, parent engagement, community education, skill and team building, peer social skills, community outreach, and overall increasing awareness by breaking the stigma for mental health. In addition, we are here to build community partnerships and give the youth within the community an accessible outlet resource. The Circle of Sistahood is dedication to primarily serve the socio-economically disadvantaged population that aligns perfectly with the needs identified in the community. With 10 teen girls currently enrolled with the plan to double this number within the next fiscal year, our impact is already significant and poised to grow.

Description

Mentoring can help youth as they go through challenging life transitions, including dealing with stressful changes at home or transitioning to adulthood. Close, healthy, supportive relationships between mentors and mentees that last for a significant portion of time (i.e., more than one year) are central to success. Without this, mentoring programs run the risk of harming young people who are paired with mentors ill-equipped to meet the mentees' needs.
The Circle of SistAhood's vision stemmed from the lack of many unavailable resources for teen girl's mentorship. Mental health is increasing, and many teens are left in the dark on how to navigate through life. This program is designed to not only help teens overcome life stressors, but to help their families as well. Our Core values are inspired by our willingness to heal minds and restore souls with individuals, families, and the communities.
The Circle of SistAhood, launched in October 2022, has made a significant impact on over 100 teenage girls and their families across Ellis, Tarrant, and Dallas Counties. Through various group sessions, mental health counseling groups, speaking engagements, and community events, the program aims to foster holistic development for teen girls, their families, and the wider community. Our goal is to double the the access to teens and their families through mentorship and community work for the next service year.
