Please visit the new page to apply.
Laurel Mountain K9 Search & Rescue (LMSAR) is a 501(c)3 that is dedicated to assisting Law Enforcement, Fire Departments and Emergency Management agencies in searches for lost or missing individuals. LMSAR has two levels of membership, one for full membership for ground support (this is the level for K9 handlers as well) and one as "limited membership". Limited membership requires less attendance at trainings, but still requires certain levels of certification be completed in order to be fully deployable.
Ground support personnel learn everything from search theory to map reading and navigation with a compass and GPS, communications and wilderness medicine, plus much more.
The best way to see if this is a volunteer job for you is to arrange to come out and meet the team. We train every Sunday and most Wednesday evenings, in the Tioga County footprint. Reach out today and see what you have to offer your community!

Description
Here at Laurel Mountain K9 Search & Rescue, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2017, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Non-Profit Organization upon: support, dedication and community.
Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to get their boots dirty. Laurel Mountain K9 Search & Rescue emerged out of a pursuit to help and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
