Volunteer Social Media/Blogger Job Description
Organization: Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM)
Position Title: Volunteer Social Media/Blogger
Location: Remote/Flexible
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
About Us:
Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and communities through education, advocacy, and leadership development. We are hosting a Silent Auction on April 26, 2025, and are seeking a passionate and creative volunteer to help us amplify our mission and events through social media and blogging.
Role Overview:
As a Volunteer Social Media/Blogger, you will play a key role in crafting and sharing compelling stories about WOCOTM’s initiatives, events, and impact. Your work will help us engage our audience, attract donors, and inspire volunteers to support our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and schedule engaging content for WOCOTM’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Write blog posts and articles highlighting WOCOTM’s programs, success stories, and upcoming events.
- Collaborate with the team to create promotional content for the Silent Auction and other initiatives.
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media to foster community engagement.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content strategies.
- Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to keep WOCOTM’s presence fresh and relevant.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with a passion for social media and blogging.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and content management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, WordPress).
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to WOCOTM’s mission and values.
- Experience in nonprofit communication or marketing is a plus but not required.
