The Oasis Sanctuary has opportunities for hard-working, animal loving people wanting a Working Vacation. Come out for a week and we will provide housing and animals! You bring enthusiasm, work clothes and daily food for yourself (we supply the kitchen.)
You will work with The Oasis' amazing staff, helping to feed and clean up after the incredible birds and other critters who call the Sanctuary their home.
You will learn more than you ever thought you could about Parrots, their lives and behaviors.
The Oasis Sanctuary is located in the beautiful San Pedro River Valley, outside Benson Arizona, in southeastern AZ. The environment alone is worth the trip!

Mission Statement
The Oasis Sanctuary exists to provide life-care for exotic birds, predominantly parrots. The Oasis Sanctuary does not breed, adopt out, sell or trade birds. We take in and care for birds who would otherwise be homeless, facing euthanasia due to age, non-contegious infirmity, aggression issues, or the death or life-threatening illness of a care-giver. Our goals are: To provide permanent Sanctuary to any Psittacines (parrot-type birds) who have no fatal, contagious disease but are otherwise unplaceable in homes; To develop and build naturalistic habitats (free-flights) for the birds in residence at The Oasis Sanctuary. To continue working with bona fide avian and animal welfare organizations in an effort to ensure that every parrot in captivity has a safe and loving home and that the remaining wild population is protected from commercial exploitation; To educate the public about Psittacines, their proper care in captivity and their place in the wild;
Description
The Oasis Sanctuary is located on 72 acres in remote and rural southeastern Arizona. Currently (January 2018) we are permanent residence to almost 800 birds.
The Oasis has been in existance since 1997. We are proud to be accredited by the American Sanctuary Association (ASA) and The Association of Sanctuary's (TAOS.)
