Volunteer Marketing Coordinator for A Safe Place Empowerment Network (ASPEN)

Position Title: Volunteer Marketing Coordinator
Location: 260 W Main Avenue, Gastonia, NC (or remote as needed)
Hours: Flexible, 5-10 hours per week

About ASPEN:
A Safe Place Empowerment Network (ASPEN) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Gastonia, NC, dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental health and substance use issues. Our mission is to provide mental health therapy, substance use counseling, and comprehensive recovery programs to empower our community and reduce stigma.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to raise awareness of ASPEN's programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Design engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and the ASPEN website.
  • Collaborate with ASPEN staff to create promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and press releases.
  • Manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Support the planning and marketing of community events, including Recovery Walks, support groups, and outreach initiatives.
  • Research opportunities for partnerships and community engagement to enhance ASPEN's visibility.
  • Track and report on marketing campaign outcomes to measure success and inform future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Background in marketing, communications, or a related field (experience or education).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite).
  • Passion for mental health and substance use recovery advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with the ASPEN team.
  • A commitment to ASPEN's mission of empowering individuals and families on their recovery journey.
