Harvesters mobilizes the power of our community to create equitable access to nutritious food and address the root causes and impact of hunger. Volunteers serving in Harvesters Volunteer Engagement Center (VEC) sort and repack food, which assists Harvesters in feeding more than 226,000 people each month.

Volunteer tasks are assigned based on product availability and project prioritization. Regular opportunities include:

  • Sorting fresh produce
  • Sorting and boxing bread
  • Packing Senior Commodity Food Boxes

For safety reasons, all volunteers must be at least 12 years of age. Volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please note, all volunteer shifts close for online registration 24 hours in advance of the shift start time. Please let our team know if you'd like to set up a group reservation so we can create a code for your group. Groups of 5 or less do not need a reservation code and are welcome to sign up as individuals for any available shift.

If you have questions please don't hesitate to reach out to the Kansas Distribution Center team at fighthunger@harvesters.org or call (785) 856-6089. We hope to see you soon!
