Volunteer Opportunity Position Title: Facilities Associate Ministry/Department: Operations Reports To: Facilities Supervisor/Operations Manager, Apelles Farr Time Commitment:

Position Overview:
The facilities associate is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the external and specific internal church building. This position ensures the church runs efficiently and supports its mission, programs, and ministries by maintaining a welcoming, safe, and functional environment for congregants, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Management
Assist with the upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness of the church building and grounds.
Coordinate regular inspections, repairs, and renovations.
Assist with managing relationships with vendors and contractors for services like cleaning, HVAC, landscaping, and security.
Budget and Resource Management
Monitor expenditures and find cost-effective solutions for facility needs.
Health and Safety Compliance
Ensure the church complies with local safety codes and regulations.
Implement and oversee emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety
Sustainability and Stewardship
Promote energy efficiency and sustainable practices within the facility.
Ensure good stewardship of church resources, aligning operations with the church’s values.
Communication and Reporting
Serve as a point of contact for facility-related issues when needed, both internally and with external stakeholders.
Provide regular updates to church leadership on operational performance and needs.

Previous experience in facilities or operations management
Contractors License preferred
Additional Requirements:
Must be experienced
Age Requirement: 18 or older
Stay updated on building codes and requirements for commercial building operations
Leadership Training: Workshops or courses to build leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
Specialized Skills Development: Guidance on operating advanced cleaning machinery or using eco-friendly cleaning products.
