Program Description
CMMB - Healthier Lives Worldwide is an international, faith-based NGO providing long-term, co-operative, medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and unequal access to healthcare. For over a century, we have worked to strengthen and support communities through healthcare programs and initiatives, the distribution of medicines and medical supplies, and the placement of volunteers.
Position Summary
Occupational Therapists will support CMMB’s mission by working with local communities’ health facilities to provide expertise , capacity building, and education to local staff. You will be responsible for a wide variety of services including but not limited to deve loping treatment plans to support patients’ abilities , teach ing patients exercises and strategies to apply to their daily lives and carryin g out i n-person assessments of patients’ abilities . Volunteers will advise patients and their families on facility-based and in-home treatment options , as well as assess the patients’ environments and suggest modifications as needed . The volunteer will ensure each case is handled with proper ethical standards and practices , ensuring the well-being of the patien t .
