Inviting local teens to be a part of the Hospice & Community Care's SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program!
"Being a part of the SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program has been incredibly rewarding. I get so much more out of this experience than what I give." - Teen Volunteer
Hospice & Community Care's SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program is a unique and rewarding way for local teens, ages 15-18, to give back to their community while also gaining valuable, hands-on professional skills.
SoulMates Teen Volunteers can serve in a variety of roles:
- Provide companionship to patients at the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center in Mount Joy
- Record patient's life stories through interviews & life reviews
- Greet visitors coming to see loved ones at the Inpatient Center
- Play music or sing to patients
- Help prep light meals, snacks, and coffee for patients & visitors
- Support special community or fundraising events
To join the SoulMates Teen Volunteer Program you must attend an inperson volunteer training. Upcoming SoulMates Teen Volunteer Training dates are Saturday, February 8th and Saturday, March 1st. Teen volunteers must also have a flu vaccination and complete a tuberculosis test. All necessary training will be provided by a team of dedicated Volunteer Coordinators.
If you are interested in learning more about the SoulMates program, please contact Jen Horan at (717) 735-2466 or jhoran@hospicecommunity.org.
