ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

"We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back."--Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

After all, that's how you participate in our Oxon Cove Park trash cleanup over MLK Day weekend! Occurring on January 19, this impactful event will help prevent pollution from entering the cove and flowing into the Potomac River. Building on Dr. King's legacy, this is a fantastic opportunity to improve both natural and societal communities.

Volunteers will meet up at 1:00 PM before heading down to the cove to collect litter. All supplies will be provided, but we recommend wearing sturdy shoes you won't mind possibly getting wet.

Hope to see you by the cove for an afternoon of scenic service!
