The Andromeda Electric Orchestra is a cutting-edge modern orchestra of electric musical instruments. Founded in 2019 by Alfred Surenyan, the orchestra performs both traditional and new music with the sounds of electronics. The orchestra, based in Los Angeles, CA, explores the use of electric instruments in both orchestral and chamber music settings.

Role Description

This is a volunteer role as a Board member for the Andromeda Electric Orchestra. The Board member will be responsible for participating in board meetings, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes, and sharing expertise in fundraising, financial management, and organizational governance. Board members will help in fundraising as contributions and sponsors is the essential foundation of revenue. Board members will also help in gaining new contributors, supporters and followers of the orchestra.

Qualifications

• Experience in board governance, preferably in the nonprofit sector
• Expertise in fundraising and/or financial management
• Help build membership program and grow followers
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for music and the arts
• Availability to attend board meetings and events
• Meet with donors, supporters and patrons at events
• Ability to work collaboratively with other board members and the organization's leadership
• Experience with nonprofit management is a plus
• Knowledge of music in the arts is a plus.
• Required: Living in the Los Angeles area due to the nature of the organization.
