MLK Jr. Day of Service Cleanup at Anacostia Park

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Over Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, let's come together to help make his dream a reality.

Join the Potomac Conservancy at Anacostia Park on this Day of Service with a litter clean-up to conserve local waterways. Much like how Dr. King's words and ideas have passed throughout the decades, so does the Anacostia River flow into the Potomac, and keeping pollution out at the source means healthier ecosystems and recreational areas downstream.

Everyone will meet by the Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavilion at 9:00 AM, where the Conservancy will provide all supplies like trash grabbers, bags, and gloves (though they recommend bringing your own if possible). Make sure to dress warmly and register in advance with the Conservancy to secure your spot and receive additional information.

See you by the river!
