Fundraising Volunteer Job Description

Position Title: Fundraising Volunteer
Organization: Youth Action Services, Inc.
Location: Remote/Hybrid
Commitment: 5 hours per week

Overview

Youth Action Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and youth experiencing housing insecurity. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Fundraising Volunteer to help secure funding for our pilot program, launching on July 1st. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and build critical skills in nonprofit fundraising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Writing: Research and draft grant proposals for small-scale funding opportunities that align with our mission.

  • Donor Outreach: Assist in identifying potential individual donors and crafting compelling outreach materials.

  • Campaign Support: Contribute to the planning and execution of online donation campaigns and community fundraising events.

  • Corporate Partnerships: Research and establish relationships with local businesses for sponsorships or in-kind donations.

  • Event Support: Help organize virtual or in-person fundraising events, such as a kickoff or community engagement event.

  • Reporting: Track progress on fundraising initiatives and prepare updates for the leadership team.

Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.

  • Passion for supporting youth and addressing housing insecurity.

Description

Youth Action Services, Inc is a new 501c3 organization. Understanding Brooklyn, NY serves some of the cities poorest neighborhoods which includes high number of homelessness. I am pleased to introduce this new organization as it is the mission, duty, and purpose of You Action Services, Inc to address, educate, coordinate and provide tools to children who have been impacted by losing their home. The services we plan to provide include After-School program; mentoring program; summer day camp; and therapeutic services. We are connecting with professionals to help fulfill our mission and also taking necessary steps to become an outpatient clinic under article 31.
