Black Brilliance Day is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the achievements of the Black community in honor of Black History Month. This event brings families together for an evening of hands-on activities, storytelling, and demonstrations that highlight the contributions of Black inventors and changemakers. It’s a meaningful way to learn, connect, and honor the legacy of Black excellence.
Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to, Activity Facilitator (Future Inventors Table): Guide children and families in creating recycled-material robots, encourage creativity, and share stories about notable Black inventors. Assist in set-up/take-down. Activity Facilitator (Legacy Inventors Table): Lead participants in crafting hand-drums, discuss the cultural significance of drumming in Black history, and engage attendees in meaningful conversations. Assist in set-up/take-down.

Thank you again for your interest and we cannot wait to connect with you soon!
Description
Brilliant Detroit is dedicated to building kid success families and neighborhoods where families with children 0-8 have what they need to be school ready, healthy and stable. We do this by providing proven programming and support year-round out of Brilliant Detroit homes in high-need neighborhoods.
