Looking for strong individuals willing help install The Lantern City. Moving and lifting lanterns outdoors are required. You will also learn about the installation process for building The Lantern City for Lunar New Year! Have you ever seen the large lanterns in various iconic locations in downtown Vancouver? Each year, The Lantern City exhibits artworks by artists of various cultural backgrounds on large-scale lanterns across the city. From setting up the frame to putting on the lantern fabric to lighting it up onsite, be a part of the process and help make Vancouver the city where diversity shines! Dates: Jan 21 - 28 AND/OR Feb 18 - 22 Time: 4 - 8 hours / day Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lift 50-80lbs (lifting done in groups)
  • Commit to assigned schedule and days
  • Able to work as a team player
  • Communicate with staff
  • Have their own safety shoes/boots

Asian-Canadian Special Events Association is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that creates sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, and works with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally.

Guided by our mandate for Community Engagement, Fostering New Artistic and Cultural Expressions, and creating a Platform to Learn and Share. ACSEA is constantly in search of the sweet spot between Conscience, Culture, and Commerce to provide a truly unique and unforgettable experience that helps build a more cohesive, diverse society.

ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad. Our signature events are spread throughout the year: the end of winter LunarFest, end summer TAIWANfest and IPACI, and a brand new event in partnership with Canadian Heritage and Canada 150 We Are Canadians, Too!
