MLK Learn & Serve with Repair the World: This MLK Weekend of Service, deepen your commitment to justice by reflecting on the enduring legacy of Dr. King’s fight for civil rights and learning about its connection to the ongoing struggle for food security in our communities. Turn your learning into meaningful action through volunteering on Sunday, January 19th, with the Crown Heights JCC Food Pantry, and help address food insecurity in NYC. Volunteers will help take care of, and beautify the pantry space for clients. Tasks will include: organizing, cleaning, and painting.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: This program will be both indoors and outdoors. Please make sure to dress in warm clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. This project is generously funded by UJA Federation of NY.

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
