Winter Trail Ambassador

Do you have a passion for outdoor winter recreation and working with people? Join a small crew of Winter Trail Ambassadors this season at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park! Duties will include:
- Providing a friendly park presence out on our main winter trails.
- Roving on trails using any of these 3:
- Winter boots
- Snowshoes (We can provide a set of these and poles!)
- Cross country skis
- Providing hikers, snowshoers, and skiers with park information and directions.
- Providing educational information on park policies and rules.
- Act as a land steward, ensuring our forest and animals are left mostly undisturbed.
- Act as a safety net for park visitors who may be lost or injured.
- Follow winter safety protocols, and models safe and respectful winter sport and hiking trail etiquette.

How does it work? Once The Nordic Center has a good, groomed snowpack, we will begin roving the Carriage Roads
- Rove our main Carriage Roads out to the Pogue loop, and up to the South Peak.
- Winter TA shifts are Monday - Friday (Weekend shifts are possible)
- Shift times are 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
- Snowshoes provided, but volunteer provides own winter boots, skis, ski boots and pole gear.
- Dress warm and don NPS Volunteer Gear while you rove!
- Volunteer Orientation training will be provided.
