Do you have a kind heart and a few hours to spare? We are seeking a compassionate volunteer to provide companionship to an elderly male resident in Seattle who is feeling lonely.
About the Participant:
* Age: Elderly male
* Background: Former journeyman electrical lineman later became a foreman. He enjoys reading the Bible and praying daily.
* Current Situation: Recently experienced depression and boredom; enjoys getting outdoors in the sunshine, and his mood improves when he does.
* Interests: Friendly, enjoys sitting outside on the deck, and participates in Adult Day Health (ADH) programs weekly.
* Needs: A kind and patient volunteer for bi-weekly visits to offer companionship, chat, and perhaps spend time outdoors.
Volunteer Requirements:
* Be a caring and friendly presence.
* Comfortable engaging in light conversation.
* Enjoy spending time outdoors, as the participant enjoys sitting in the sun.
* Ability to commit to bi-weekly visits.
