HANDS-ON TRAINING AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
in Crisis Intervention and Victimology
PIMA COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE VICTIM SERVICES DIVISION
We will be conducting our Crisis Intervention and Victimology training starting February 4, 2025 and would like to share this information with you and the community.
Our Victim Advocate Academy is a well-structured, comprehensive, and hands-on training. The training teaches basic crisis intervention skills, concepts, and techniques. In addition, it examines various types of crimes and the specific victimization dynamics that victims of crimes may face, including common trauma reactions. You will also learn about the criminal justice system and what the role of an advocate entails throughout this process. This training is the gateway into volunteering and participating in an internship with the Victim Services Division.
The training will be held in-person from 6:00pm-9:00pm every Tuesday and Thursday from February 4, 2024 through March 25, 2025. It is required that anyone who would like to take part in the training attend a VIRTUAL informational session either January 14, 2024, or January 21, 2024.
The link for the information session will be provided when we get closer to the date. Please be aware that the info sessions are virtual while the training itself is in-person!
If you have any questions, please call (520) 724-5525 and ask to speak with a Volunteer Coordinator.
Thank you very much,
