Are you passionate about empowering communities through education? Join nenos, a forward-thinking tech nonprofit reimagining social media to amplify local voices and foster positive change. As part of our mission, we are committed to providing the public with the tools and knowledge to navigate technology and social media safely and effectively.

We are seeking volunteers to help us plan and facilitate virtual education workshops that cover topics like online safety, data management, digital wellness, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with the community, sharing knowledge, and making a tangible impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the nenos team to develop educational content and workshop topics, such as:
    • Online security and safety best practices.
    • How to manage personal data online.
    • Recognizing and avoiding online scams.
    • Healthy habits for social media use.
  • Facilitate 2-4 virtual workshops annually via Zoom.
  • Research and prepare presentations, handouts, and other materials for the workshops.
  • Support attendee engagement through Q&A sessions and discussions.
  • Provide feedback on workshop success and identify ways to improve future sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge or interest in technology, social media, and online safety topics, or interest in gathering research on these topics.
  • Experience with virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom) and creating presentation materials.

This is a virtual opportunity with a manageable time commitment of 2-4 workshops per year, along with planning and preparation time. Your work will empower individuals with knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.
