Volunteer Job Description: Donated Items Pickup Driver

Location: Dallas, TX, and Surrounding Areas
Time Commitment: Flexible, based on availability (minimum of 4 - 6 hours per week on Mondays preferred)
Reports To: Executive Director/Volunteer Coordinator

Overview:
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with picking up donated items from various locations in Dallas and surrounding areas. Volunteers must own or have access to a large pickup truck or box truck to accommodate the transportation of donated goods. This role is vital in supporting our mission to distribute items to those in need.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate with the ED/Volunteer Coordinator to schedule pickups and deliveries.

Safely load and transport donated items, including furniture, boxes, and other goods.

Ensure timely and reliable pickups from donors.

Maintain good communication with donors, representing the organization professionally.

Assist with unloading items at designated locations, such as donation centers or warehouses.

Follow safety guidelines for handling and transporting goods.


Requirements:

Must own or have access to a large pickup truck or box truck.

Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Must be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Good communication and people skills. Warm ,friendly and energetic

Familiarity with Dallas and surrounding areas is a plus.
