Join Hunger Free America in our efforts to verify food resources information for the USDA Hunger Hotline!
In this virtual session you'll receive background information, training and support to verify and update listings of food pantries, soup kitchens and SNAP/WIC offices around the country. This information is used to direct callers to our Hunger Hotline to resources. You'll be given unique listings to check, by calling the number and doing web-based research. You are calling organizations that are currently in the Hunger Hotline database and confirming the information we have listed for them. This is crucial, especially as the Holiday season approaches and we are making critical referrals to those in need of services. Accurate referrals are a vital part of our work. You'll need a computer, phone and pen and paper for the task.

HUNGER FREE AMERICA (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a national nonprofit group building a nonpartisan, grass-roots membership movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Our long-term goal is not just to ameliorate the problem, but also to build the people’s movement necessary to enact the economic and public policies needed to end hunger entirely. Given that hunger drains our economy and tears at our moral and civic fabric, we know that eliminating it will boost the nation both economically and spiritually. Towards that end, we’ve adopted the motto: "Ending hunger lifts us all."
