Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate HR Specialist (Volunteer) to support our growing team of staff and volunteers. The HR Specialist will play a critical role in creating and maintaining a positive organizational culture, managing volunteer recruitment efforts, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit human resource best practices. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while gaining valuable experience in HR and nonprofit operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Develop and execute strategies for recruiting volunteers to support the Foundation’s programs and initiatives.

    • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including conducting orientations and ensuring new volunteers feel welcomed and prepared.

  2. HR Policies & Compliance

    • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures aligned with nonprofit best practices.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment and labor laws for both staff and volunteers.

  3. Volunteer Management

    • Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, hours, and roles.

    • Act as a point of contact for volunteer concerns, providing guidance and support when needed.

  4. Employee Engagement & Retention

    • Support initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.

    • Collaborate with leadership to recognize and celebrate the contributions of staff and volunteers.

  5. Training & Development

    • Organize and facilitate training sessions for staff and volunteers, including topics such as diversity, inclusion, and nonprofit best practices.

    • Identify opportunities for professional development and skill-building for the team.

  6. Administrative Support

    • Assist in maintaining HR documentation, including volunteer agreements and staff records.

    • Support leadership with organizational planning and capacity-building efforts.

Qualifications
  • Passion for Nonprofit Work: A strong commitment to supporting postpartum families and the mission of the PostBaby Bliss Foundation.

  • HR Experience: Previous experience in human resources, volunteer management, or related fields.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.

  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using HR management tools, spreadsheets, and communication platforms like Google Workspace or Zoom.

  • Team Player: A collaborative and supportive attitude, with the ability to build positive relationships across the organization.

Time Commitment
  • Flexible schedule with an average commitment of 8-12 hours per week.

  • Ability to attend occasional virtual meetings or events as needed.

The PostBaby Bliss Foundation exists to empower, support and uplift postpartum families by providing access to essential postpartum resources, education, and compassionate care during one of life’s most transformative and challenging stages.
Through charitable programs, educational workshops, and community outreach initiatives, the Foundation aims to Promote Maternal and Infant Health through free or subsidized postpartum care, mental health support, and recovery resources, to underserved families. We also aim to educate and empower parents, advance awareness and advocacy, facilitate research and innovation, and foster community connections.
