We are seeking kind-hearted and empathetic volunteers to provide emotional support through heartfelt letters and phone calls. As a Remote Volunteer, you will help brighten someone’s day by fostering connections and showing care and compassion to those in hospice care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write personalized, uplifting letters to hospice patients, offering encouragement and companionship.
- Make compassionate phone calls to patients or their families to provide emotional support and a listening ear.
- Maintain a log of correspondence and calls to ensure effective communication with our care team.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the unique needs of patients and families are met.
Qualifications:
- A caring, empathetic demeanor and excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail to personalize letters and calls appropriately.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for individuals’ experiences.
- Reliable internet connection for coordination and updates with our team.

A hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. If you have a desire to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill or those who are grieving by giving of your time to assist a patient, family member, or our office staff, then you have the qualities we're looking for in our volunteers. Volunteering includes making scrap books, blankets, cards, treats, reading, writing, visiting, and much much more.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care.
