Dune Planting in Cape Canaveral

sea oats on ocean

Join us in a dune planting of native plants which provide a vital role in dune stabilization. This is an opportunity to meet others who care about our beaches.

Restoring the dunes by planting sea oats allows their root systems trap the sand creating dunes and habitat for birds. Dunes are natures defense against coastal storms.

Simple planting tools will be provided by the city of Cape Canaveral, but please feel free to bring gloves, shovels, or trowels to help plant. Please also bring water, sunblock, a hat, and a snack if needed.
