We work with individuals of all ages with disabilities and special needs and facilitate riding and ground lessons with our horses. Our volunteers help take care of our horses in the barn, help get them ready for lessons, and help out instructors and clients during sessions. No previous horse experience required! We are open Monday through Thursday and Saturdays--hours are flexible.

Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center creates therapeutic programs for individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional, behavioral and psychological needs utilizing the equine experience. At Ivy Hill, Horses + Love = Hope.

Description

What do we offer?
We offer customized horsemanship and therapeutic horseback riding instruction, as well as Hippotherapy (physical therapy utilizing the movement of the horse) to individuals of all ages with cognitive, emotional or physical challenges.

Why are therapeutic riding and hippotherapy benificial?
The interaction between humans and horses has recognizable therapeutic benefits. Many of our riders are referred to Ivy Hill from educators and medical professionals with the goal of achieving specific physical, emotional and cognitive accomplishments. Our specialized programs are designed for the needs of each rider and can facilitate a variety of positive achievements in areas such as physical, cognitive, and emotional.
