We focus on fighting poverty and fostering economic stability with a strong emphasis on racial equity. Our latest project, Prosperity Tracker, seeks to address inequities in the tech space by providing support to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in technology fields.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Volunteer Product Developer to support the development of our equity tech project, Prosperity Tracker. As part of our team, you will help in designing, building, and testing the platform’s user experience, ensuring it is accessible, intuitive, and tailored to the needs of our diverse community. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a groundbreaking project aimed at addressing technology inequities and provide support for individuals from marginalized communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the product management team to define project scope and user needs.
• Develop and refine the product’s features, focusing on user-centric design and accessibility.
• Assist with product testing to ensure functionality and ease of use.
• Contribute to the overall design and architecture of the product to ensure scalability.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the product’s development process and end user experience.
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

• Experience with product development, ideally in a tech or software development environment.
• Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
• Knowledge of programming languages or product management tools (e.g., Figma, Trello, Jira) is a plus.
• A passion for social impact and equity in the tech space.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Ability to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to this position.
