Hospice Care is end-of-life care. We focus on comfort and symptom management.
Volunteers play a strong role in the care we provide, by offering patients, and their closest family members, companionship, emotional support and/or a needed respite.
Other volunteers gift their special skills, like music, pet, massage, and aroma therapies.
Visits can happen during the week or on the weekend, and can happen at almost any time day. You can stay close to where you live, or drive as far as you want to, to make a difference in someone's life.
Most volunteers who do this a while, will say "I get more from it then they give!"
I'd like you to know, too, of the paradoxical benefits of getting when giving to others.
