We’re excited to match you with a site that fits your availability! You’ll have the wonderful opportunity to team up with two to three fellow volunteers and lead a small group (8-15) of girls, either in grades 3-5 with the Girls on the Run program or in grades 6-8 with Heart & Sole.
It’s going to be an amazing experience! Glamour Magazine selected GOTR as the #1 place to use your PTO from work.
The deadline to sign up to coach is January 13.
The Spring season starts the week of February 3, and the 5K is April 26.
As a GOTR coach this season, you will:
- Build confidence in girls
- Inspire participants to unlock confidence in others
- Deepen your skills in communication, teamwork, and more
- Become trained in leading small teams
- Meet twice a week for 90 minutes (usually M/W or T/TH)
- Move in a way that’s right for you (No need to be a runner or athlete!)
- Receive season-long support from your council and site liaison

Description
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd to 8th grade designed to develop and enhance girls’ competencies to navigate life experiences successfully. Girls learn how to be a good a friend, choose good friends, conflict resolution, make healthy choices, and so much more while training for an end-of-season 5K.
