The Food Pantry Volunteer plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the pantry. Volunteers assist with food sorting, stocking shelves, preparing food packages, and distributing food to individuals and families in need. This role offers an opportunity to make a direct impact in the community by helping ensure that families have access to nutritious food.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with sorting, labeling, and organizing food donations.
* Stock pantry shelves and maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming environment.
* Help prepare and package food for distribution to clients.
* Greet and assist clients during food distribution, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
* Support special food drives and events as needed.
* Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of food.
Qualifications:
* Friendly, compassionate, and customer-service oriented.
* Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Physical ability to lift and carry food items (up to 25 lbs).
