The Green Crew Project Management Internship offers the perfect opportunity to lead environmental initiatives, coordinate resources, and ensure Green Crew projects achieve impactful results. What You’ll Do:

As a Green Crew Project Management Intern, you’ll oversee key projects and learn to manage all stages of planning and execution. Here are some of the projects you could lead:

  • Event Coordination for Conservation Days : Plan monthly Conservation Service Days, coordinating schedules, volunteers, and equipment for smooth event operation.
  • Digital Project Management Website : Develop a centralized website for tracking all Green Crew projects, task assignments, and timelines.
  • Volunteer Management System : Create a system for volunteer sign-ups, scheduling, and communications across Green Crew initiatives.
  • Educational Workshop Series : Coordinate workshops for schools and community groups, handling logistics, materials, and outreach.
  • Conservation Impact Dashboard : Build a visual dashboard tracking project impacts like trees planted, waste removed, and biodiversity improvements.

The Green Crew's mission is to lead the adventure of "saving the world." The Green Crew is a youth-inspired and youth-led environmental action organization. Our conservation service projects provide youth the hands-on experience in meaningful action to make the natural world healthier.

Description

Launching in January 2022, the Green Crew is a unique collaboration between the Izaak Walton League and the BSA venturing program. We sponsor 1 or 2 environmental adventures per month. These adventures have been designed, planned, and implemented by youth. Adults serve as consultants and advisors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 14
  • Orientation or Training
  • Interns commit approximately 18 hours per month, including: Monthly Conservation Service Day – Third Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Leadership Team Meeting – First Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. This hybrid internship includes both on-site and remote activities
  • All volunteers will be provided training on site. Provided trainings include: Leave No Trace training, youth protection training, as well as training in environmental leadership and environmental project management.
