They support AARP Washington’s presence in community through representation at various community events and activities, identify opportunities to increase AARP visibility, and offer valuable information and resources through member engagement. They may also partner with local community organizations on AARP priorities, such as Age-Friendly Communities, and represent AARP at community meetings.

Speakers Bureau volunteers educate and inform the public on AARP priorities by presenting workshops on topics such as Caregiving, Brain Health, Downsizing & Decluttering, HomeFit, and Fraud Prevention. Speakers present AARP-developed content to groups in-person or via Zoom. Volunteer roles include presenter, tech-support for both in-person and virtual, organizer and scheduler, and audience greeter.
